The perfume, through a beautiful representation of Ireland, encapsulates and mirrors the unique emotional experience that is in the W.B.Yeats poem "The Lake Isle of Innisfree" (a copy is found inside the carton). This could be explained as follows: In a world that is so uncertain and dramatically changing, that which means something is increasingly important to people. To listen to our hearts, to realise what is really meaningful is very compelling (see final line of poem embossed on the heart-shaped bottle). In an increasingly sophisticated and frenetic world (e.g. people at travel terminals, airports, rushing around) we should try and create balance and harmony in our lives by drawing on the peace and calm of nature to help us establish our priorities in the world.

Classically Elegant

The packaging, which largely speaks for itself, is bright, colourful, uplifting and attractive. The bottle is a heart shape which captures the light beautifully. The photographic image, which we commissioned especially from renowned photographer Peter Sellers, shows the beauty, peace and calm of an actual sunset over Lough Gill in County Sligo, with the Island of Innisfree in the centre. Through its closeness to nature the perfume conveys the purity of spirit of Ireland and the magic that the country is perceived to have - note the current incredible international popularity of Ireland and all things Irish. Additionally it is also aspiring to move things up to a higher, more meaningful level coming as we enter the third millennium, reflecting a growing desire and need to build a better world by being in harmony with nature and each other.

The Scent

The scent has been developed by us in collaboration with one of the world's leading perfume 'noses' and includes, at its core, lavender oil distilled by us from our field of lavender in County Wicklow - 'the Garden of Ireland'. It is a magical fruit and floral fragrance; the top notes are an accord of Lily of the Valley and fruit notes of Peach, Blackcurrant, and Apricot, in conjunction with Lemon, Bergamot and Lavender. The middle notes are an accord of Jasmine, Rose and Iris constructed on a smooth foundation of the base notes of Sandalwood, Cedarwood and Musk. The overall effect of the fragrance is lightness, freshness and youthful zest which develops into a classically elegant and very rich woody floral perfume of great depth and transparency. There can be no better evocation of all the softness, greenness and richness which compose Ireland. It is a celebration of femininity, nature and Ireland.

We feel that Ireland's beauty, nature and spirit have much to offer the world. Essentially, it is a place of inner peace, which is why so many people travel to experience it. We have tried to capture this in our perfume.
